LA Korean Sunday Service On May 21st 2006, around 40 people gathered together to worship God in Korean. It was a heart moving experience to sing and praise the Lord in our mother tongue. Three brothers from different cities led the opening song. One of them, Earl Chun, was from Seoul, Korea. Another, Tae Kim, was from the Metro heights Region and the last one , Joo-Hyung Kim was from Daegu, Korea. They didn't know each other well but they were one hearted in Christ to lead the song with love and passion. Augie Kim also led a song. The opening prayer was done by Terry Kang. The communion message was shared by David Lim and Daniel Kim from the Central Region. Jaeho Park preached a powerful and inspiring message. Each part of the service was challenging and encouraging. The closing prayer was done by Andreas King from North Sector of OC Region. A zealous sister, Min-Nie Kim from San Francisco flew to Irvine to attend the first Korean service. It was great to see the parents of some brothers and sisters. All of us were excited and encouraged to meet one another in a foreign country. Not only we shared the same language but we also shared the same conviction and faith for God. This was the kick off service for the start of LA "Global" Korean ministry (GKM). The GKM will be devoted to saving souls in the area of LA and is going to reach out other Koreans living throughout the world. We are also planning to train and support Korean missionaries. We started the ministry with 9 brothers and sisters. It's a small group but our dream is big. With God, we can become many! Every Sunday, there's a Korean service at 10AM in Garden Grove. We plan to invite all the Korean brothers and sisters in the LA church once a month. We will create a link to our Korean ministry website in the church homepage (laicc.net). There will be a lot of spiritual resources and good news in Korean and English. We need all your prayers and support. |
